This photograph was taken at Al-Masjid al-Haram during Isha on an ordinary day in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Al Masjid al-Haram (“The Sacred Mosque”) is the largest mosque in the world that surrounds the Ka’aba, the place which Muslims worldwide turn towards as unique direction while offering daily prayers. It is Islam’s most holiest place.
While photographing the late night sunset from the Coastal Trail, I noticed this group of people involved in conversation. I decided to step back and include their silhouettes in the frame. This image was taken in Anchorage, Alaska
It was taken on January, 2007 afternoon, during a walk around Balat. The one on the left is a part of Phanar Greek Orthodox College and the one on the right is the minaret of Darülmesnevi Camii.
