A view from Behram Pasha Mosque, an Ottoman structure built in 1572 by Behram Pahsa, Governor of Diyarbakir. The compressed stone on the upper right and left of the entrance predates by some 400 years of the pre-stressed concrete, which is still widely used today, and highly admired by students of architecture.

This firework photograph was taken on the night of 29.10.2008 during the Turkish Republic Day celebrations. Location in the picture is the area between Üsküdar and Beşiktaş.

I used a D700 with a 60mm f/2.8 lens on it. The exposure was f/32 at 1/80sec (ISO125) with an SB600, triggered through Nikon CLS.

It was taken on 14.02.2007 afternoon, from an airplane during a flight back to Istanbul. Thanks to our landing route, we flied directly over Bosphorus and the old town.
