I was on a vacation to Frances Atlantic Coast, roughly 150 km southwest of Bordeaux. The meandering river leads into the sea. I have been there two times and the old footbridge which was not showing at my first trip had meanwhile been revealed. The tripod was sinking into the sand and the fast currents made me fear for my equipment. I used a grey filter to bring down the exposure to 30sec at f/14.

Photographer:Felix Kühbauch (Bonn, Germany)
Felix is 23 and studying Geoscience. In his spare time he likes to ride BMX and take pictures. He is extremely critical about his pictures and often feels obligated to bring home good shots which can be a pain sometimes. He doesn’t really plan out trips to go shoot, most of the time he just takes pictures around where he lives and while he is on a BMX trip or summer vacation. He enjoys all kinds of photography, but when it comes to shooting people or do street photography he doesn’t feel comfortable. So usually you won’t have many folks around in his images. Since the landscape around isn’t overwhelmingly beautiful like the Grand Canyon for example, Felix tries to wait for the perfect light and time of the day while setting up a pleasant composition.
