The design of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque has been inspired by both Mughal and Moorish mosque architecture, particularly the Badshahi Mosque in Lahore and the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca being direct influences. The dome layout and floor plan of the mosque was inspired by the Badshahi Mosque and the architecture was inspired by both Mughal and Moorish design. This was taken an hour before the mosque closes for the evening.

Photographer: Jim Alonzo (Sharjah, UAE)
When Jim Alonzo had his first Instamatic camera (Olympus) in college, he never knew that it is going to be one of his passion. He set up a small studio and took pictures of his sisters and when he saw the photos he had taken, he said to himself “I think I’m loving this.” It’s been a year since he bought his own DSLR. His favorite subjects to photograph are kids and landscapes. he got no formal training, but he believes that, maybe someday he will have the chance to meet the famous photographers around the world and have the chance to work with them.
Photographer: Sarin Soman (Dubai,UAE)
Sarin Soman is a software engineer, working and living in Dubai,United Arab Emirates. He is basically from India. Since 2005, he has started photography as his hobby. But till the year 2009, most of the photos he clicked were not based on any technical points or compositions.Whatever comes to his way he just clicked. From 2009 onwards he has taken photography as bit more serious hobby and concentrated on compositions, technical aspects etc. Flickr groups, websites and friends helped him a lot to learn photography. For him photography is something close to his heart. He uses to say it his wife – camera is his second wife. Still he is a beginner in photography and a long way to go. He has great desire like one i day he wants to become a full-time photographer and from his photography he can win his bread.
