Ryszard Wierzbicki was born in 1963 in Poland, and migrated to UK in 2006. He is a travel photographer, specialized in portraits of kids, old people, culture observation, and focused on South-East Asia. On August 26, 2012, his photograph Smile for a Cookie was awarded in the Photo of the Day contest in the category of Portraiture Photography, as it scored a solid 72.5 (Value 13.5, Clarity 14, Composition 18, Style 13.5, Skill 13.5) from our international jury of 5. The number of Tweets, Facebook shares, and StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 3.4505 from social media (Facebook Share 2.01, Tweets 1.05, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.1905, and Comments 0.2), and in total 76.9505, the highest score in this competition for the 27th Month. For our 27th month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Our team decided to honor these top scorers as 2nd and 3rd places with a page in the next issue of our magazine, where the photographers will share their stories of these photographs. We will also publish their interviews in the Exclusive Interview section on our Web.

Javier Mosquera was born in 1978 in Ourense (Galicia, Spain). His love and admiration for the natural world led him to obtain a Bs in Marine Biology, and gave him the chance to work as a biologist in amazing places as Azores, Iceland or Amazonia. He began to feel attracted by the possibility of capturing the beauty of those places, the nature, animals, landscapes, and people. Javier’s photograph Le Repos, in the category of Still Life Photography, scored 70.5 (Value 13.5, Clarity 12.5, Composition 17.5, Style 13, Skill 14) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. The number of Tweets and Facebook shares, StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 2.805 from social media (Facebook Share 1.17, Tweets 0.8, StumbleUpon Organic View 0.135, Comments 0.1), and in total 73.305.
