Intrigue! by Ruben Alexander
Ruben Alexander hails from Bangalore, India. He pursues left brained activity as a techie in the IT industry and right brained activity as a self-taught rookie photographer. Most of his current photography work revolves around nature, macro and a few creative still shots. Landscape, Portrait, Travel and Street photography interest him and he plans to delve into them as he progresses on his learning curve. Ruben’s photograph Intrigue!, in the category of Close-up Photography, scored 73.5 (Value 14, Clarity 14, Composition 18.5, Style 13.5, Skill 14) from our international jury of 5, and gains a good position in the competition. The number of Tweets and Facebook shares, StumbleUpon Organic Views boosted the popularity of the photograph, raising its score to 6.4135 from social media (Facebook Share 2.51, Tweets 1.75, StumbleUpon Organic View 1.3535, Comments 0.8), and in total 79.9135, the highest score in this competition for the 14th Month. This photograph is the winner of Photograph of the Month – 14th Month, 1st Place.

This photograph will be published on Pages 2 of our magazine. We will publish a special interview with Ruben Alexander in the Photographer with Style section of the magazine, and the Exclusive Interview section on our website.

For our 14th month, we had a head-to-head contest between the top scorers and the photographs that scored the highest became winners of the Photo of the Month. Our team decided to honor these top scorers as 2nd and 3rd places with a page in the next issue of our magazine, where the photographers will share their stories of these photographs. We will also publish their interviews in the Exclusive Interview section on our Web.

Magda bought her first SLR camera 6 years ago, after spending a year working in Malaysia, where she fell in love with travelling. She traveled through 40 countries and majority of her photos are taken while on the road. She was born and raised in Poland but is currently living in Sydney, Australia. Magda’s photograph Twelve Apostles, in the category of Landscape Photography scored 70 (Value 12.5, Clarity 13.5, Composition 17.5, Style 13, Skill 13.5) from our international jury of 5. Debjani Chowdhury is a homemaker and doing her masters in economics. She is a passionate photographer. Since last year she is trying to learn the art called Photography. 2010 was the most significant year for her; because that’s the year her photographs got recognitions from many people and magazine, including Asian Photography and National Geography. Debjani’s photograph Depicting Dream in the category of Artistic Photography, scored 70 (Value 13, Clarity 12.5, Composition 18, Style 13, Skill 13.5) from our international jury of 5.
