Topeng Monyet is a traditional art which is known in various regions in Indonesia. Topeng Monyet can also be found in India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Japan, and Korea. Topeng Monyet involves a Monkey Tamer who trained monkey to do various activities that mimic human behavior, such as wearing apparel, dress up and go shopping. The show played in a round from one place to another in the residential neighborhood. The audience is mostly children. Therefore, the arrival of a Topeng Monyet is always welcomed by the children. The excitement of these children become sustenance for the entourage Topeng Monyet. “Saweran” money from the citizens is the source of their livelihood support his family.
