This gritty urban night soccer scene comes to you from Ipanema Beach in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The iconic peak of Pedra de Gavea rises in the background and the city lights of Favela da Rocinha (South America’s largest shanty town/slum) climb impossibly up the side of the mountain. I camped out on this beach for a few hours either side sunset to try to capture some of the intense atmosphere that this place just emanates.
