Thredbo Big Air, by Cameron Cope

I captured this image while shooting the 2010 Thredbo Big Air Competition at Thredbo Ski Resort in Australia. The snowboarders and skiers hurled themselves off a 50ft jump trying to pull off their maddest tricks for a panel of judges perched atop the cabin of a snow groomer. For my untrained eye the aerialists were pretty amazing and I had heaps of fun shooting a subject that I had little experience with. The rider pictured is Jordan Houghtan.
