Born in South Africa from Angolese parents, he has Portugese nationality and is currently residing in the Netherlands. He is a pragmatic autodidact constantly experimenting with all kinds of visual arts; exploring the boundaries of each field; learning by trial and error. Having worked most of his career on computer graphics trying to replicate reality he has found that it’s irreplaceable.

With his light painting photography work he has the opportunity to design a scene as if it were a 3D canvas, starting with an idea, finding balance in colour and performance, playing with symmetry and searching for simplicity that can be expressed in a complex way. Theoretic knowledge of light acquired during his professional career has contributed to a photographer with intricate knowledge of how light works and how we perceive it. In a professional world dominated by specialisms he considers himself a jack of all trades, and a master of all.

Website: http://www.oddballgraphics.com/
Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/hugobaptista
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/hudabap
Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/Oddballgfx
Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/oddballgraphics/
Twitter: https://twitter.com/OddballGraphics
Linkedin: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=80771203
Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/102352402951859906563
Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/oddballgraphics

The post Scheveningen Dune, by Hugo Baptista appeared first on Light & Composition.

Azure, by Sébastien Beun

Contestant | December '12

Minimalistic Photography

Malta

Sébastien Beun

Valletta

This image depicts the two lighthouses that delimitate the entrance of the Grand Harbour of Valletta, Malta (il-Port il-Kbir, in Maltese). So Ronnie enrolled in the professional program at Southeastern Center for the Arts in Atlanta. The school was operated by Jeanne & Neil Chaput de Saintonge, who currently operate Rocky Mountain School of Photography. He spent 14 years living in Alaska and this gave him unbelievable opportunities to experience nature and capture many images.
