Photographer: Nilla Palmer (Brisbane, Australia)
Nilla Palmer’s natural desire to travel and photograph many parts of the world started 27 years ago, although her photography addiction started with her first 110mm film camera as a child. This eventually progressed to 35mm cameras as a teenager and a photography course, which also taught B&W darkroom techniques. Later, more study in Communications Design and Multimedia increased her desire to experiment further with composition and light.
Nilla’s intent is to reveal a story through her images for an audience, which she hopes inspires and encourages people to visit far off lands. Without a strict genre that she adheres to, Nilla captures whatever strikes her at a precise moment. Although her work includes a variety of themes, capturing the essence of a candid moment is her passion; an unguarded second in a frozen in time. She invites everyone to enjoy her gallery and feel free to contact her with any comments.
Glacier Bay in Alaska is accessible by private boat and cruise ships. The access daily is limited but when you arrive if your lucky on a clear day it is so beautiful. The Margerie glacier is 21 miles long and with global warming concerns is shrinking every minute. I was accompanied with my whole family on the occasion of my parents 50th Anniversary and truly enjoyed photographing Alaska.

Photographer: Steve Hirsch (Columbus,Ohio, USA)
Steve Hirsch grew up with a love of photography, had a darkroom in his basement and photographed throughout high school. He took some time off to get married, raise 3 girls and become an otolaryngologist. Now that the kids have grown he has renewed his interest in his favorite hobby. His other favorite pastime is travel. The two passions go hand-in-hand, travel landscape and wildlife photography. In order to grow as a photographer he has attended workshops in Africa and various locations. He continues to travel all over the world and the United states to capture animals in their natural habitat and photograph beautiful landscapes in all different seasons of the year and various lighting. His artwork adorns the walls of his home, his friends, family and clients homes as well as medical offices. He feels photography is his way to express oneself artistically and connect with people on a very basic level. He enjoys the process of planning and traveling to each unique location, patiently taking the best shot and exploring the best way to display his works of art. He currently lives in Columbus Ohio USA.
Portage Glacier sits about a hours drive south of Anchorage, Alaska. The melting of Portage Glacier created this lake (known as Portage Lake) . This image was taken a few minutes before sunrise to capture the reflections on the mountains on the lake. Icebergs (in the distance in this image) vary in size and are often close and large. To the right of the center mountain, you can see the retreating glacier.

Photographer: Ronnie Glover (Gig Harbor, WA, USA)
Photography took a backseat while Ronnie obtained his college degree. After graduation, he purchased his first camera but was unable to produce the images that he saw in his mind. He then took a few continuing education class to learn the technical aspects of the camera and realized there was so much more to learn about photography. So Ronnie enrolled in the professional program at Southeastern Center for the Arts in Atlanta. The school was operated by Jeanne & Neil Chaput de Saintonge, who currently operate Rocky Mountain School of Photography. He spent 14 years living in Alaska and this gave him unbelievable opportunities to experience nature and capture many images. Ronnie also enjoy travel photography and the experience of different cultures. It is his wish that his images will expose others to the beauty of nature and other cultures. He invites everyone to enjoy his gallery and feel free to contact him with any comments.

Every year thousands of people heading out of overcrowded cities for a breath of some fresh country air. While most countries in the west, or even now in the east are much more conscious of how rampant containerization of cities can play havoc on human minds, it is also true that we still need nature to soothe our city frayed nerves. I am not an exception. The Tour of Nilgiri has allowed us to see the pristine beauty of the Nilgiri during one of the best seasons of December. When I was taking this picture, I just thought how the blue mountain will look through the lens of my camera, and the sky will put more effect on it or not . So here is my composition which I put it in front of you.

This photo was taken from the Parks Highway, the only highway for travel between Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. Denali National Park sits near the halfway point between the 2 cities and is about a 4-5 hr drive from Anchorage. At 20,320 feet, Mt McKinley is the tallest mountain in North America and towers above the mountain range below it in this image. Many days it is clearly visible from Anchorage 160 miles away. Each summer, climbers flock to Denali National Park to attempt the summit of Mt McKinley.

Before moving to Alaska, the coldest temperature I had experienced was 7 degrees F. Planning to experience the great outdoors but not wanting to become front page news, I decided to take a winter survival course. The course involved 3-4 overnight trips in January-March , spending the night in self built shelters from available materials (aka, snow). This image was made on one of those trips during a break from a group igloo building session. From our location for the night, this image looks down on the peaks and fog below.

I captured this incredible sunset from an equally incredible location: Pic Malawi, a steep mountain commanding an awesome view over the peninsula upon which the city of Nouméa resides in New Caledonia. After a steep ascent struggling to keep up with a French Alps native, the sun began to merge with the sea as golden clouds buffeted the thickly forested hills around us. It was probably the best sunset of my life, and I was lucky enough to grab this panorama featuring our fellow colocataire (house mate) Romain, as he took in the breathtaking view. This is a 360 degree panorama, which explains why the summit on the left is sunlit, despite the sun appearing to go down somewhere behind.
