An extremely windy morning made in not an easy task taking this image. Light rain forced me to protect the gear with an umbrella, but the wind was so strong, that I wasn’t able to hold it with one hand. Luckily the sun came through the clouds for a few seconds.

A well known mountain view of the Italian Dolomites. I always try to find a new and fresh perspective. Framing the wonderful scenery was my first intention. When I recognized a single cloud moving into the composition all I had to do is waiting for the perfect moment.

I was still a child when I marvelled for the first time at the several centuries old camel thorn trees in the Deadvlei in a collection of photographs. A unique landscape which is actually untypical of nature, because the shapes are so clear and simple. A graphic landscape. Of course, I couldn’t miss that on [...]

Finally, after weeks of bad weather, I enjoyed heading into the mountains spontaneously to catch some summer impressions. I reached this small pond before sunrise after a one hour hike. Absolutely no wind and a misty atmosphere made this to-good-to-be-true shot possible.

A picturesque moment of Monument Valley, Arizona-Utah Border with cloudscapes in the background. I wanted to capture the depth, and used circular polarizer on a 20mm f/2.8 lens, set at ISO 200.

I worked as a freelancer for a company in Innsbruck, Tyrol, which had the advantage that on the weekends I often had some spare time where I could hike in the fantastic Karwendel mountains. This time I arrived quite late in Innsbruck and drove up to the Hinterhornalm and then hiked to the Walderalm nearby, [...]

Captured this image from Stirling Castle (Scotland) looking down on the view below. This just looked like such an idyllic image waiting to be captured. The country house, the trees (a few of them skeletal), the elongated shadows on the ground created by the rays of the sun – all these elements just seemed to [...]

This photo was taken near 11 pm in July. It may have saved my life and the very least my Jeep . The 1/125ths or so of a second it took to push the shutter button was about equal to the amout of time by which I missed hitting a moose a few moments later. [...]
