While roaming on my terrace, trying to figure out what to shoot, I saw this little kid on my neighbor’s roof running from one corner to the other, then suddenly he stopped near a few lines of ropes, and was trying to tie a knot. The cuteness of the kid compelled me to think of a composition and shoot the moment. I quickly took a shot of the moment with my 70-300mm zoom lens capturing his expressions. The photo signified how the little children on the earth tied a knot of love around this whole wide world.

Swaroop Singha Roy – A shutter bug from Kolkata with a knack for music and wildlife. A funny, happy go lucky boy who loves to Love the beautiful creations of nature. The innocent animals have a special place in his heart. Since his childhood, Swaroop had this habit (maybe a bad habit) of snatching a camera from his dad and trying to figure out which button makes the “Snap” sound! Then, the day finally came when he got his first camera – yes, it was a film-roll one, and that was the day he realized he needs to do something big with this. Now, armed with his digital photographic stuff, he loves to go around the city, village or anywhere in this big beautiful world and shoot at sight. Photographing Animals is what he likes the most. Photography to him is a means of expressing his thoughts

Photographer: Nilla Palmer (Brisbane, Australia)
Nilla Palmer’s natural desire to travel and photograph many parts of the world started 27 years ago, although her photography addiction started with her first 110mm film camera as a child. This eventually progressed to 35mm cameras as a teenager and a photography course, which also taught B&W darkroom techniques. Later, more study in Communications Design and Multimedia increased her desire to experiment further with composition and light.
Nilla’s intent is to reveal a story through her images for an audience, which she hopes inspires and encourages people to visit far off lands. Without a strict genre that she adheres to, Nilla captures whatever strikes her at a precise moment. Although her work includes a variety of themes, capturing the essence of a candid moment is her passion; an unguarded second in a frozen in time. She invites everyone to enjoy her gallery and feel free to contact her with any comments.
This is a great little candid shot that I took while exploring Marrakech. The city is so full of little nooks and crannies, you never know who is watching you. This lady was a bit off the beaten tourist track, selling woven bags down a side street. I noticed her through the windows of the Madrasa Ben Jousef and took a cheeky little snap.

Photographed this old lady in a pagoda in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Most people present at this pagoda were busy trying to get money from foreigners. It was quite disturbing and hardly what one would expect from a buddhist pagoda. This woman was one of the few who just sat quietly without asking me for anything, even though I took her picture … It’s easy to imagine the long life this woman has had.

Photographer: Thomas Jeppesen (Hanoi, Vietnam)
Thomas Jeppesen is a danish fellow, living in vietnam on the 6th year. He has a master in architecture, but has worked with realestate advertising and marketing since he finished school in 1998. He now own and run a full-service marketing agency in Hanoi, servicing both the local and foreign clientel. He often escapes the dirty city on motorcycle with the camera on his back, exploring the rural areas around Hanoi. The countryside in Vietnam is like a step (or many) back in time, and offer a genuine glimpse into the real world of the majority of vietnamese people, the farmers. Through his pictures, he tries to portrait Vietnam and it’s people in the simples form possible, black and white, one subject or face at the time … Simplicity and minimalism are his life convictions, photography included. This is the reason why most of his images are black and white.
