The color in the flag represent our history, the red disc represents the sun rising over Bengal, and also the blood of those who died for the independence of Bangladesh. The green field stands for the lushness of the land of Bangladesh.

]]> It was in Sonargaon, the ancient capital of Bengal. I went there to take some photographs of the rain and water lilies. We were on a boat for a while, but could not locate any lilies. At that moment everyone seems tired, and our little guide, this boy was lost in his thought. The beautiful surrounding of Sonargaon, the green rice field as the backdrop, and our voyage on this small country boat, everything seems heavenly. I believe, sometimes what we see around us is more beautiful than the unseen heaven, if we can open our mind to see the hidden beauty of it.

Born in Ouarzazate in 1987, Abdellah Azizi is a passionate photographer from Morocco, who loves to photograph South Moroccan landscapes, people, folklorists’ bands, and the life of the rich part of Africa. After finishing high school, Abdellah applied for the Institute specialized for film industry, where he studied for two years on techniques of lighting, and griping. Then he moved to Casablanca to study camera work, and audio-visual post production for a year. He started to work as camera an assistant, lighting technician, and also worked for a local e-magazine, as videographer. The e-magazine didn’t have a photographer, so they asked him to do some photo assignments for them, and they liked his work. From then Abdellah moved to photography. There are lots of other reasons too, but the main one he believes is the freedom he enjoys in this medium.

]]> 16th December is our victory day, the victory of red and green. The color red in our national flag represents the 3 million people who were brutally killed by Pakistani Army in 1971. And the color green represents the ever green Bangladesh. Regardless of all corruption this country have seen from its birth till now, its political instability, run by its shameless politician, we still do have hope, so does our next generation. They will become the red and green, coloring their dream to make this country a prosperous one. It’s my niece and nephew, they were doing rehearsal for their school program for Victory day, and I didn’t miss the opportunity to take their candid short.

]]> In the middle of endless rice paddy field, I saw a small bamboo hut and few children inside it. It was a sunny, humid day; their parents were working nearby, and they were there to get relief from the sun. I was watching them for a while, and noticed the girl was trying her best to make the small one sleep. She must be their elder sister; just like every elder sister in an ordinary family in Bangladesh, she is taking care of them. But they were in the mood to play and giving me countless candid moments to snap their heartfelt ordinary life.

Since he was a young boy, Shikchit Khanal always found beauty in everyday life. Born in Kathmandu, Nepal, he never realized that he had very little. He always longed for a life less ordinary, less conventional. Making photographs in his mind of the things he saw around him. He dreamed of one day being able to document the way he viewed the world. He dreamed of travelling and knowing the world through his own eyes and sharing his vision with others. In May 2010, he finally bought his first camera and for the past two years he has been living his dream of travelling and taking photos throughout India and his home country of Nepal where he is currently living with his wife and child to be.
