I was visiting one day a friend’s house, his swimming pool was inviting, but not on that cold day, so I look forward for summer. I hope he invites me then! It looks like climate does not make water look different, these turquoise or aquamarine colors in the pool made me remember the Caribbean Sea near Cancun or even Venezuela.

Oscar Garcia was born in Mexico City in the late 50’s, lived in Guadalajara, grew up in a large family of 7 kids. Married with a wonderful woman from the Northwestern Mexican state of Sonora, has three beautiful and intelligent children, all of them with a great eye for photography. He went to college in Mexico City to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Geological Engineering and fulfill his passion for Mineralogy, and earth sciences. Nevertheless, this passion for minerals is now just an expensive hobby for him. The family immigrated to the USA back in 1989 to work for an American manufacturer of petroleum equipment, same field Oscar has been ever since. His career has sent him to 32 countries so far, as an international area sales manager with more focus in Latin America in the past 10 years.
During his sales career, Oscar pursued a Master in Business Administration degree in Houston Texas, graduating in 2007. The objective was to get a little help to boost his sales career with new credentials. He currently lives in Houston, Texas in the USA. Oscar’s first experience with photography goes back to the 60’s with a rudimentary camera owned by his Mother. He used to borrow it whenever he went on a field trip during college. He has bought his first digital camera, a Sony Mavica in 1998, its memory was just a floppy, and 1MB filled the diskette. Replaced in 2003 by another Sony, this one with 5 Mpixels, then soon a Panasonic with 8 Mpixels. He finally discovered the Nikon world in 2007 with a Nikon D40X. His current gear is a Nikon D90, which he believes is a great camera; however, he still misses the lighter weight and vivid colors of the D40X, now owned by his eldest daughter. Some of his photographs have been selected by either newspapers, aviation organizations and magazines.

Michael Suppan born in the city of Innsbruck, Austria. Now he live in Graz, in the southeast of Austria. He is a self-taught hobby photographer. He started photographing in 2008 and came to this topic through small detours. He was looking for a creative activity in his spare time as a balance for his daily life. As he was always fascinated by technical things he could already bring in his gained experience into photography from the first day on. To his opinion high-speed
photography is one of the most interesting and challenging fields in photography. What fascinate him most about photography is that he can make the observers aware of things that they wouldn’t take notice of in their everyday life.

She hasn’t done really anything professional yet, but she is working her way there. She hopes to get a lot of exposure of her artwork and maybe one day sells it. Stephanie Mostly does it for the passion and the fun. Her life motto is, “Photography is a part of who I am. It’s how I see the world. I spent a few days in and out of Puerto Montt as it is the home port of Agartha, aboard which I roamed the northern patagonian fjords with Carlos Lonza of Sailing Patagonia. In my spare time I managed to do a few photo-walks in town. Whilst I don’t normally shoot abstracts, this scene caught my attention. It was low tide and I had descended to the pebble beach from the concrete retaining wall protecting the city for a low angle view of the passing fishing vessels. Unfortunately the light was not proper for shooting the boats out on the water so I started poking around for something else when I noticed these improvised fenders hanging into an empty berthing. Something about the griminess of the wall, the pebble beach, the ship’s title painted in complementary colours and the hanging tyres caught my attention. They gave just enough clues to illicit the grimy seaside ‘vibe’ I was contemplating at the time. It was glary and overcast too, so it was perfect lighting to focus in on some detail and the colours came out nicely as a result.

This shot was taken during my visit to Dumka, Jharkhand (India) to see the Massanjore Dam. In this shot, the blurry scene of the Mayurakshi River. I saw a few boatmen sailing in the river. After I was done with taking the landscape scenery of the river… I thought of shooting one of these boatmen sailing. I tried to capture the moment as a surreal scene. So I used a very slow shutter speed and hand held my camera. It was a challenge of course ! The end result, surprised me ! It was during the dusk when I was shooting, and the Light was quite low… but the shot came very Vibrant ! I even saw the reflection of the clouds in the water.

Swaroop Singha Roy – A shutter bug from Kolkata with a knack for music and wildlife. A funny, happy go lucky boy who loves to Love the beautiful creations of nature. The innocent animals have a special place in his heart. Since his childhood, Swaroop had this habit (maybe a bad habit) of snatching a camera from his dad and trying to figure out which button makes the “Snap” sound! Then, the day finally came when he got his first camera – yes, it was a film-roll one, and that was the day he realized he needs to do something big with this. Now, armed with his digital photographic stuff, he loves to go around the city, village or anywhere in this big beautiful world and shoot at sight. Photographing Animals is what he likes the most. Photography to him is a means of expressing his thoughts.

Rainer Mirau was born in 1976 in Vienna and have lived since his early childhood in Baden, an idyllic small town on the edge of the Vienna Forest. In his youth, he often travelled with a backpack and a tent. Now, he is often on the road in his camping van in the Alps and in Northern Europe.
His interest in landscape photography was awakened by first trips to Scandinavia. With his father‘s Olympus OM-1 and through studying various books by photographers such as Andreas Feininger, Ansel Adams or Fritz Pölking, he learned the rules of photography time after time. In 2005, he rediscovered his passion for photography and have pursued it since then with a lot of energy and joy.
Spending time in natural surroundings regularly is not just recreation and inspiration for Rainer Mirau, but is a necessity in order to lead a balanced life. For him, nature photography is the ideal occupation, as he can thus live out his creativity and grapple with technology (that whole big toy!) and in the process, still experience beautiful moments in nature as well.
Numerous publications and successes in international competitions motivates him to continue on his path as a photographer.
