Light and Composition: A Whole New Journey
It’s a whole new journey for Light and Composition as we commence the second issue!
Launching the first issue of any magazine is a big task, but keeping on that journey is harder than that. Thanks to Almighty that we carried out our job well and it’s my humble privilege to present the second issue.
It has been two months since we started our journey as a photography magazine. It was just the day after the World Cup 2010 started, in South Africa.
It was pretty much a gamble to launch a magazine when the whole world was glued to the television screen, up in the middle of the night cheering. Though it was World Cup time, we received a good number of subscribers. We received glowing reviews and comments from our readers. However, others were not so impressed. We know it’s not possible to please everyone, especially those who are in the photography business, and also Photoshop and from our perspective, unethical ways of photography and art – they did not like our magazine. We stuck to what we believe in and who we are, though.
We are proud to represent what we are aiming for, the purist side of photography, and we hope to inspire people towards the true essence of this beautiful field of art.
We apologize for publishing the second issue one month later than the expected date. If you are following our weekly update in Editor’s Desk, then you might have read some of our articles, where we tried our best to keep you updated. Last month we were giving more emphasis on Photo of the Day as it is one of the most important facets of our magazine.
We tried to keep the design as familiar as volume one, so that you understand our theme. However, we are introducing two new sections related to Photo of the Day, to encourage photographers to participate in this wonderful journey.
As a magazine, our goal is to reach every corner of earth and the key is to use soft copy and free distribution to all. Besides that, this magazine is specially designed for IPAD and most of the new tablets available on the market.
Last, we want to thank you for accompanying us on the journey to those places we are traveling to every single day with “Photo of the Day”.

Congratulations.
Although my own photography/art tends toward the abstract, I love the purity of the perfectly exposed and framed photograph.
As with all artistic ventures, you must first master the rules before you have the know-how to break them. I still study the masters constantly, and am excited to see the new generation of photographers following in their footsteps.
